Aviva Windscreen Cover Question

    Hi all.

I have an Aviva policy which is only about 2 months old. I just changed vehicles and the windscreen is cracked. I don't have windscreen cover. I want to add it to my policy first and then get one if possible.

What I want to know is do Aviva have a time limit to how soon you can claim on a windscreen or what are the procedures.

Please only answer if you know the procedure. I don't really want opinions. Too many of those already! Thank you.

They're not stupid enough to fall for the kindergarten fraud you describe - they won't let you add glass cover until renewal.

What I was always surprised is that they provide windscreen cover without making sure that at time of obtaining the policy the windscreen is not cracked already. The same they don't check it when changing the cars on the policy.

Yeah it is a fairly lax system. Thats why I want to try and get it. I'm kicking myself for not getting it when I got the policy.

If it doesn't work I still have a few more tricks up my sleeve.

Ring around and get a CASH price for getting your windscreen changed at a drive in place.

Then double check how much it would cost to pay a premium that would have your no-claims unaffected by a windscreen claim.

The difference may be less than you think.

Oh yeah it's illegal and doing it makes you a bad person and Santa may not visit you this year

Asking for advise on how to defraud an insurance company is against the Charter.
