While it's fast, would an off the shelf company qualify for the exemption of corporation tax for the first 3 years? I would think not but open to correction.

shelf companiesare officially illegal but his crowd do 'ready-made companies' - same thing - you just get name changed & directors changed. Will only have been incorporated in recent weeks so still subject to corporate tax exemption. They always have some ready to go

or option for them to go in as first directors which makes turnaround time very quick

Do it yourself. Print out form A1 and do up your own Memo and Articles. You can get samples from the CRO. Cost €100 to the CRO and €10 to your local peace commissioner.

No need to be giving anyone hundreds for what you can do yourself.

You get all your forms and documents done up in about five minutes for 75 euros (not "hundreds").

Of course, you still have to go and get your signatures witnessed and post the docs into the CRO -- they take a week or two to complete the process.

It is still substantially dearer than drafting your own documents but a step in the right direction.
I suppose it would depend on where you consider €75 good value if you don't want to do the drafting yourself. But at the end of the day you are still saving over €100 on what those company formation solicitors are charging.

And on top of the €75 +vat, you also have to pay the €100 filing fee to cro, and buy your own company seal and company register on top of that. So it does end up in the hundreds. Plus, as you won't be using a registered company formation agent, you cannot register the company in 3-5 days. You'll be put on the normal scheme which can take anywhere between 2-3 weeks if not more to have your company registered. And i've come across numerous people who have had documents prepared with this automated service and the company name has not been accepted by CRO. Just because a company name is not in use, doesn't make it available. So if the name if refused, you have to amend all documents by hand and resubmit to the companies office and wait another few weeks again for it to be registered. Seems like a lot of hassle to me to save max €50.

I have registered many companies myself and none have ever taken more than 5 days sending them by post.
