Withdrawing from correcting state exams?

I accepted to correct papers this summer (conference in 2 weeks), but I really don't want to do it now.

How do you go about withdrawing?
    Is it possible?
Do you have to give a proper excuse?
Will they be mad and not offer it again next year?
Has anyone else withdrawn at this late stage?

    Thanks

    Send an email immediately.
Tell them you are unable to correct for "personal reasons".
They say that you won't get an offer for at least 2 years.

I doubt it's a big deal. Ring the SEC and give them some sort of plausible story, stressing that you would like to do it next year. They always have people on stand-by and this year I'd say they've even more than usual.

There is no problem with getting out but the question must be asked in that you don't want to do it now but you would like to be offered it again???

The earlier you let them know the better.
