Asus Laptop Opinions

Hi, I'm looking to get a new latop for myself. I saw that Asus laptops seem to have a very low rate of malfunctions according to the 'buying' thread at the top of this forum. I saw this on the Pcworld site and was wondering was there any negative points about it. I think I would only need an i3 processor and the 4gb ram is more than enough. I don't see any HDMI listed on the specs. Does anyone know if it comes with a HMDI output? Really, I'm looking for any general opinions of the laptop and it's features.

    Thanks,
    Chris

No, it only has VGA out according to the Curry's website

What exactly do you plan on using the laptop for?

That's a pity. i'd prefer to have a HDMI on it. I'd like a laptop that could do some basic video and photo editing. I'm not a gamer, so wouldn't need a huge graphics card. I'd like to buy something fairly decent, cos I'd be looking to keep it for several years.

not had to deal with their support, but ASUS are one of the leading hardware manufacturers, especially in motherboards, and have been for god knows how long. They got into laptops recently. The laptops are good quality. I would try one out, myself. I only get to sell the things, but playing around with the G72 is kinda nice. Bit bulky though. The other ones like the K52 and U52 are good also.

I got this over a year ago, could even be two, my memory's quite bad:o

I remember at the time it had better spec than all the other machines I looked at it the same price range (600 euro). The only let down was the lack of HDMI.

I've never had a single problem with it, although I prob wouldn't be the most demanding users in the world. I mostly use it for the usual surfing, music, streaming movies, burning CDs/DVDs etc.

The build and feel of it is better than any other laptop I've used and I'd defo go for another after this.

I bought this a few weeks ago and aside from the software uninstallation, which caused me more than a few problems (ended up doing a clean install) the machine is outstanding. The screen is amazing and it's blazingly fast. It's not ''thin and light '' and it's a bit heavy but I love it. The build quality is superb, head and shoulders above anything I've had before from HP, Dell or Acer. It's actually on a par with my MBP and that's just crazy talk.
