I'm going on holidays with my partner and young child next week and was wondering how people would budget their spending money. How much woudl the average amount be that people bring on holidays with them for one week?

Does budget include accommodation and travel/car hire or just food/drink/fun?
    Where are you going?
What do you plan to do when you get there?
How much can you afford to spend?

Tbh, how long is a piece of string.

Sorry about being so vague. Heading to the Algarve for one week. Accomodation is paid for, no car hire, maybe one or two day trips to water parks etc. Could maximum afford to spend €1500. Do you think this will be sufficient?

    I haven't been there but here's a google

You can use this to compare general costs, they didn't have Algarve so chose Faro

1500 is more than enough tbh for a single week.

I agree just go easy for the first couple of days maybe set your limit to 100/125 e and see how you get on. Are ye going self catering or are any meals included in your accomodation. Be wise stock up on drinks/minerals snacks in a local supermarket this alone will save you a small fortune. I have read on forums of people bringing a small sandwich maker on hols and popping up to their room making a round of toasties rather than forking out between 3/5e per sandwich!!!

That's more than enough, we survive on €500 and that's 2a & 2c. Just stock up as said before, it's the coffee's, ice creams etc that work out to be the expensive stuff.
