    Hi,

I have been recording guitar and bass straight into my laptop stock mic input, using my amp and audacity.

can I do the same when using cubase or do I need to have an mbox or similar USB device?

    Thanks

yea you can do the same with cubase, but unless your using a mac of some sorts don't expect good results from using the line in. most internal laptop sound cards won't have an up to scratch sample rate. although, some might!

Cheers, if it's the same then I'm happy with that, I was getting very clear sounds on audacity, which I didn't think would be possible using the line in!

logic studio pisses on cubase, cubase is getting too complex at this stage!
