I'm going to look at a 2008 diesel one of these at the weekend in a main dealers. I'm just wondering what's ther prefered choice in these,Manual or Auto? This one is manual.
    Here's the link:

    http://www.driving.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=201115201982630

    Auto, Auto, Auto....

They no longer sell a manual version of these.

Looks like it was early enough in 08 that it will go on engine size, but check what the actual engine size is listed at. I've seen D5's listed as 2399,2400 and 2401 - doesn't make a huge difference to that tax rate, but at least you'd be prepared (€895 or €935).

Yes Automatic without a doubt. The one in the link is an Automatic btw. Most of the XC90's in this country are Automatic. And a lot of the manuals that are here would be imports.

It's an Auto in the picture. Something's wrong somewhere

The ad may say manual, but the pictures show an auto, look at the shot of the dash, see the large P beside the time / temp display indicating it is in Park.

Its definintly an Auto op, it has the Auto gear knob and if you look at the dash pic it is in "P" for park.
The Dealer probaly just hit manual by mistake, because in the comments below he says its auto/tiptronic. Nothing to worry about id imagine.

They do, and engine size is cheaper than emissions on one of them. New D3 2wd's cost €1,050 a year to tax
