I was thinking of getting a 27 inch iMac with AppleCare, and saw that if I find a friend who is in an English university to buy it for me in Belfast, not only do I get the 10% discount, but the full 3 years of AppleCare costs something like £50. Has anybody ever done this? When taking the iMac in to be fixed under AppleCare, do they request proof that you are the person who bought the machine?
