Havent used this but i have a philips dtr5520 freeview hd stb which is similar but not a pvr. Excellent picture quality but mheg 5 slow to load pages (10 seconds) also clock is one hour out which wouldnt be pvr friendly.

Did u buy your unit from UK I thought the time would be the same. I Have got sat boxes from UK and they were time set adjustable

The difference with this box is that it is branded "Freeview" (it's not a generic FTA receiver) so it may have specific features which may cause it not to work 100% with Saorview, including time setting, allocation of programme numbers etc. Until someone checks it out on Saorview you may be taking some level of risk.

I bought it in asda in strabane about 2 months ago, 50 pounds, even with its shortcomings i use it as my main box in preference to my walker stb11. I also bought a technika hdis2010 from tesco last week for 30pounds, which is now a very good box as updates can be downloaded from web onto usb. It also suffers from the clock problem though and wont show programme info although mheg 5 is very fast on it.
There isnt any way to fix the time problem though except wait for winter to arrive.

Wondering if anyone tried one of these PHILIPS HDT8520 on Saorview since?

Richersounds have graded units for £120 - could be a good deal if they work here.
