My dad is a maths genius, and even though he never put pressure on me, it's still a bad, bad subject for me. Anyway, ordinary level, so anything under 80% will be a disgrace:pac:.

Feeling pretty okay, as long as we don't get those annoying questions with irrational numbers.

I'm looking forward to it :) as long as I study paper 2 at the weekend I should be OK.

Well, at least we have the weekend to learn the theorems.

Trigonometry is savage! Except, does that circle thing in trig ever come up? I don't know, we did it in class and I didn't know what was going on. ASTC or something like that!

Hope it doesn't, because I'm acing that question anyway.

Oh, god, I barely remember that. Isn't that the thing with the quadrants, and then there's something about positives and... IDEK

Yes! I don't know how to do it.

I don't think it comes up though, not regularly anyway. I looked through the exam papers and I don't think it ever came up. It possibly came up once in a part C, but I can't tell if it is it or something else.

Well, I'm fecked for theorems anyway. I think I vaguely remember it, but I don't know how to use it.

The only question that comes up about it is something like
Find two possible values for sin45 where is is equal to more then 0 and less then 360.

I don't know how to do it but it's usually only worth 10 marks and pretty much never comes up. I wouldn't s**t my pants over it like.

The unit circle comes up often enough. As an A part, you'll probably get either that or to find the sin/cos/tan of a triangle giving two different sides. It's not too hard to do. For example, if tanA =-1, find two values for A. In the unit circle, sin is positive in Quadrant 1 and quadrant 2. Type in the inverse tan of -1 (i.e. tan-1 1, negative is ignored). The answer is 45. Therefore, you take 45 from 180 to get the value in the second quadrant, which is 135 degrees. In the first quadrant, add 45 to 0 and your angle is 45. Therefore your two angles are 45 and 135. There's a way of checking if your answer is right if you get confused, but I can't remember it. :/

    Tan45 should equal -1 :P

Please let paper 1 be like the pres! I got on well and although paper 2 was hard we only had 3 of the 6 questions done and I still ended up with 53% overall. Tbh i'd take that again because i've done no work on paper 2

I'm doing foundation.. and I still find that impossible! Yeah,I'm terrible at maths. I think I should just about pass it by the skin of my teeth. I would be soooo happy with 40% because I always fail it cos I find it out so hard and impossible :( I just don't get maths!
The irony? My Dad is brilliant at maths and was going to be a maths teacher but he didn't bother..so now he's a farmer! :D He's great at them but it took him about an HOUR to explain the x2 formula things to me,which I'm still pretty unsure of!
Pity he didn't pass on some of his maths knowledge to me :p
I got my mother and sister's(and uncle's,seeing as he was a college English proffesser :p ) knowledge of English! :)
But yeah, good luck to all who's doing higher and ordinary and foundation :) xx
