Maybe someone here may have the same issue as i have.

Finding the Charges for lodging coins very expensive, its working out at 2€ for every €100 lodged. I dont want to change the account type as its very good for everything else.

Does anyone know of legit business that swap coins for cash with out a charge. The rate for notes is 0.45 per 100 which is quite a big difference over the year.

Dont lodge, I often go in with ~€400 in bagged coins and the just swap it for notes at the business desk.

Lodge it in the ATM after ;-)

do you do this in the branch you bank with.

Probably should have said its a business accout with no laser/bank card.

The charges id get would be 2.45 for every 100 as its the same rate to take money out.

BOI and AIB will do it PTSB want you to lodge it afaik

You might be able to negotiate a better rate than that with the bank, assuming the have cash facilities.

The best thing would be to swap the coins to local businesses who currently pay a charge to buy coins from the bank. Most retail businesses have a shortage of coin.
