What will happen is that you won't be able to watch any recorded channel that you will have cancelled. So you will have to watch your movies before you cancel. Hope that makes sense:)

It would be far easier to simply buy the movie on DVD, many titles are €5 or less, and theres lots for sale 2nd hand. You can also borrow DVD's from your public library.

ive got hundreds of dvds but they get scratched, and even if they didnt get scratched you have to think about storage,id like to have hundreds of movies stored on my digital video box

Once you have the DVD you can do what you like with it. Put them on a Hard drive and store the DVD. You don't have copyright to do it, but then you don't have that for your DVR box, Sony/UPC either. Anyway with UPC you'd be getting a imperfect copy compressed for transmission, and with ads. Try fixing that up hundreds of times. A DVD is full quality.

The other point is that, your doing a lot of work, and need a lot of storage, just so you don't lose one or two. It wastes vast amounts of your time. Whereas if they are DVD's, you can just buy a replacement if one gets scratched. Cost a few euro and almost zero time.

Also if you have spent days if not weeks putting them all on a HD, what happens if that drive fails. You going to need a backup of the same capacity and some means of syncing them.

Don't have UPC but thinking of getting bundle package. Can anyone tell me does the HD box have an r.f. out to run to another TV?

No rf output on the HD box.

No rf output on the HD box.

Thanks for that. Do you know if I could receive the analogue services to another TV if I split the feed or have they gone at this stage.I suppose another option would be a video sender :(

You can get multiroom for €5 extra a month.
