When job adverts ask for a photo

This basically means the employers are either racists or perverts, doesn't it?

I'm tempted to get a model's photo off Google and attach it, just to see how they react when I turn up. "Did you have an accident" or "Have you done something with your hair" are the reactions I'd expect.

    Depends on the position.

I don't think I have ever seen an advert that looks for a photo.

Often when filling out application forms they ask you to affix a photo. I saw a guy before with 'Eire 32' tatooed across his forehead, maby it's to avoid interviewing people like him.

Some companies want the "right" looking person for certain positions, airline cabin crew and receptionists come to mind, as these people are the face of their business.
I'm not saying it's right but at least they arn't wasting your time calling you for an interview your not going to get.

Don't see the harm in asking for a photo. Whenever I encounter a scumbag in my life they always tend to look like a scumbag.

Haha I take it you weren't recruiting for an ASU in west Belfast?

Standard for jobs on the continent.

I've seen a few ads like this and I'd be suspicious of them -

I'm suspicious of most ads on gumtree :D

The only job I have heard of people needing to submit a photo are Airline Cabin Crew - I'd be very suspicious/uncomfortable otherwise.
