Makes sense to me tbh, the clearway symbol doesn't need to have text it being a symbol and all.

it's pretty straight forward, paid parking 7-16, then a clearway so no parking for the next 3 then you can park for free...

    Where's the confusion:confused:

The parking sign (below) clearly states that it is pay and display between 07:00 and 16:00, Monday to Saturday. Ergo, I can park here for free at any other time (this being the convention elsewhere in the city). But not so fast. A cryptic appendage says something about 16:00 to 19:00. There is no English, just hieroglyphics. I don’t know what this means, so I’ll just ignore it and get on with my shopping..

What stupid conclusions to comes to. Ergo my arse.

An average of 3 cars a day clamped in a lane only 64m long means something was up.

The "hieroglyphics" are the internationally recognised clearway/no parking sign.

Yep, the attitude so many drivers take in this country...don't know what it means....doesn't apply to me as I pay my taxes....I didn't put that sign up and I didn't ask for it to be put up so I'm fecked if I'm going to obey it....sure nobody will mind if I just ignore it....etc etc etc...and thus the reason why its such a misery to drive around here every day of the week.

Worst of all the blog this is taken from is called "IQ content".

I fail to see how the "Clearway" sign is "cryptic". It's a standard symbol.

Fair enough if you were being careless and just looked at the pay & display sign, you'd be caught out, but there's nothing ambiguous there.
