Folks, unfortunately Im gonna have to get gearbox replaced, can anyone recommend where is the best place to get one and if the quality is good with them?I am in Limerick but will travel if I have to. Thanks

Shop around. If it is a proper recon. get a warranty too.

p.s. I thought it was a steering rack issue?

so did i...went to lad i knew in the end, steering rack is ok, its new gear box that needs to be fitted, just shows you the cowboys that you can be dealing with.... have priced a few so far, 850 for part and fitting so far, thanks

I would recommend A&M gearboxes on St James Street ( Sean ) if its at all complicated , excellent guys

Cheers, checked out few places, best price is 800 plus vat for reconditioned gearbox and fitting, get 6 months warranty with it
