Yeah but stripping her naked and beating her went a bit too far.

It would be very cool and most welcome if cinemas over here had the same policy, but it'll probably never happen.

Fair ****s to them. Wish more cinemas here enforced such rules.

Exactly, its off putting watching a movie then in the corner of your eye seeing this bright phone screen....

God I love Magnited States of America

In the last couple of years I would say I have been to maybe 50 films. At every screening people have been using their phones in one way or another. At the end of the day people don't give a sh*t about others. Most cinemas here are now run on skeleton staff and just can't manage to cope with any problems. That recording shows how selfish that person is, claiming the theater was too dark,FFS you are there to watch a film with others.

Hmm I wonder what the next step is?

Have a camera pointing at the audience and then flick live on screen the scumbags acting the maggot down the back. Or that douche sitting beside me wiping his ear wax on his leg (that happened).

This man is my hero, pity he didn't own a few Irish cinemas. Wonder how he deals with chair kickers, kneecapping I hope.
"When we adopted our strict no talking policy back in 1997 we knew we were going to alienate some of our patrons. That was the plan. If you can't change your behavior and be quiet (or unilluminated) during a movie, then we don't want you at our venue."

Here's the advert from the link in the OP:

People who use their phone in the cinema are worse than terrorists.

I was wrong, when I saw Pirates 4 recently nobody used their phones or annoyed me in anyway. Probably because my daughter and I were the only ones at the screening.:)

Yup, Vue in Liffey Valley serve Beer & Wine, no Pizza though, just Hot Dogs. The Screen also serves Wine, as did The Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield but they closed recently for finance reasons unfortunately.

I like the fact that they have a no talking policy as well as the no phones.

I think the last time i was at the cinema was the deathly hallows part 1.

Pretty much the whole film, a group of teenagers talking and giving a running commentary. Lost the plot when i heard the question "What's a muggle?"

I mean seriously, if you are going to see the 7th movie in a series of films, at least check the story on wikipedia or something if can't be bothered to watch the other 6 parts.

I get a few quiet whispers, but some people have full blown conversations.

I really wish Alamo had a cinema here, or that there was a cinema that dedicated here.

I saw Green Lantern today, and I missed so much dialogue because of a group next to me, all of them used their phone at one point, kept yelling things out at the screen, and about halfway through the film, had a conversation started by "Hey, did you see about all those retarded Canadians rioting about hockey or some ****?"

I was half convinced that it was some sort of prank, because I couldn't believe people could be so damn rude. I complained to a member of staff on my way to the bathroom, and he just asked them to "be a little quieter", as did 2 other members of staff throughout the film.
