IDEAL immersion not heating (intermittently)

Got an odd one here, have an "IDEAL" (Irish Domestic Electric Appliances or something) 2/3kW immersion installed, ~2005 I'd imagine as that's when the house was built; although the sticker on the top looks ancient.

Twice recently it has randomly stopped heating, the first time it began working as I was checking the wiring; and its gone currently.

There's 240V coming out from the switch and reaching the terminals on the immersion although I'm not detecting anything on the S1 lead for the bath coil - which is never used anyway.

I'd just assume it was burnt out except for the fact that it did this before; or that the wiring's dodgy except for there being full power to it.

    Anyone any ideas?

edit: come to think of it, S1 could be "si" for "sink".

Just found a TINY "reset" dimple on the top of it, hidden under a wire, and its now working.

There's also now a solid 240 between the common neutral and both the sink and bath leads the entire time so I'm going to make an assumption that my switch is bolloxed...

check for continuity across the bath and sink terminals at the switch before ya assume the switch is broke....If there is continuity then its broke, but if none then its ok... Do with the power switched off....
