I wouldn't go with the laser thing, a friend did it and didn't see any results at all. I whitened my teeth a few years back.. I don't think I'd be bothered doing it again, it was sore and expensive and bad for the teeth..

Best way in my humble opinion is to do it through your dentist, who will take a mould of your teeth to create a shield thingy (my powers of description are a little weak today, I know) - a plastic tray, I suppose it's called - and you put hydrogen peroxide (bought off your dentist at an extortionate price) on the trays, slide them onto your teeth and leave them on overnight for a few nights. If your teeth become very sensitive and sore, you can alternate between filling the trays with the hydrogen peroxide and sensitive toothpaste every other night. You can also get a 'sensitive' version of the peroxide, which is really just a more expensive lower concentration of the chemical, as far as I gather.

This method will give great results, but remember that you are bleaching your teeth, which isn't very healthy.

I would advise you to avoid the home kits, the trays won't fit your teeth properly so if the stiff does work, the colour won't be even. Then again, you could find something that works well, but I doubt it..

Less coffee and more brushing! :D

    Good luck to you.

Sorry, totally forgot to give you an idea of the price. I can't remember how much the tray was. I got enough h. peroxide for one whitening for about 70 euro, that was about 5 years ago.

I did the tray thing a couple of years ago. (thats the take-home kit) My teeth became far too sensitive to continue the full 3 week programme - I lasted about a week, then do it the odd time they look a bit dull.

They did go a couple of shades lighter. My sister is getting hers done for her wedding and I suggested the in-house one purely because the home one is drawn out. I dont know if its less effective than the take home one so you need to research that.

i got mine done in Smiles - along with other dental work beforehand, and was happy with the service. I paid €300 at the time but I see their website has home whitening at €200 and in house whitening for €450.

It will be sore - they tend to gloss over that in the sales pitch, but I did a few days, then filled the trays with sensodyne toothpaste and used pain relief as recommended by the dentist alternating nurofen plus with panadol. After a few days my teeth were no longer sore and only the odd time twinge with sensitivity.

Theres a good dental forum here that you might get a lot of your research info from before you book the clinic. (or you could go north if its significantly cheaper)

<snip>, they can be pricey but worth it.

I haven't had my teeth whitened there yet but check out their website or give them a ring. The staff are lovely.

I've seen the results from the KOR system and they are superduper white, best results I've seen. But expect to pay more than any other system as it demands a fair bit of clinical time....

    Good luck,
