Me and my boyfriend are heading to rome,I'm fairly certain he's going to pop the question, my question is, has anyone purchased their engagement ring over there, or should I wait until I get home?

Was in rome last month and looked at rings but they were even dearer than here! We both have massive negative equity on our apartments so not enough monry to get the ring we want! If anyone has a second hand 1.5 ct plus solitaire to sell PM me

Voltare Diamond is by far the best option. It is run by an Irish man by the name of Seamus Fahey (Check it out on google or youtube.) He goes directly himself to pick out the diamond and will produce whatever design you wish with all the ligit certification to proove its value. He cuts out the middle man and you will pay far less than what any jewler.
We arranged an appointment with Seamus last year and my fiancee showed him photos of the type of ring she wanted, he was able to sketch, on a drawing, what parts of each ring she liked and produced her own unique design. Just tell him what price you are willing to pay and he will take care of it in less than 2 or 3 weeks depending on your design. Seamus was a gent to deal with and wont charge until you see the finished ring.

I know few jewellers and every one of them has had a couple with a diamond ring purchased abroad (NY, Dubai, Antwerp...) looking for confirmation cause they're unsure if they got the value for money they were promised. And then if there is something wrong with the ring, what do you do? Buy locally, you have at least the guarantee if something is wrong with the ring you can go back and complain. Would you fly back to Rome to complain? Also most jewellers here would offer free cleaning and polishing service, if you buy your ring in Rome you'll have to pay for this extra once you're back here...
