    Hi guys,

    I know youre sick of hearing about my car but shes developed a new fault atm, When im accelerating from 1st to 3rd theres a rattle in the engine, it sounds like one of the pulleys but i cant be sure. Makes her sound like a diesel.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Are you sure the oil pressure's ok?

    Oil was checked yesterday, it was very low yesterday and we added more, reckon it could just need circulating for a while?

    Is it a VVti engine? Some of those develop a fault in the intake manifold where the inner seperates from the outer and rattles.

    Oil looked fine and it was pretty much nearly gone, i was lucky because there was enough in it to not ruin the engine, it was my mistake for not trusting the guy i bought it off.

    If the oil was below the minimum on the dipstick, then damage will have been done, how much depends on how long it was like that and how hard its been driven when it was low.
