I'd say to need to start thinking about detailing and not valeting. Big difference.

These guys to a "Interior Sterilising Detail"

Persistent smell of smoke in my car despite all my attempts at cleaning/airing it out. I'm wondering has anyone had any positive experience with valet services claiming to remove such odours? E.g

BTW I have beige leather seats.

We've had a few cars that stink valeted, one at least a couple of times, and the smell still persists - and the company we use are very, very good.

We did have one car that smelled of dead something or other, so they stuck a machine in it over night, then lobbed 6 air fresheners in it. Cleared the smell of dead thing, but you could smell the airfreshners from the other side of the garage.

Munster Auto Detail do this, I've seen the before and after.
they use some sort of vapour machine in the car to kill the smell.

You first need to kill the source, take the ashtray out and soak it over night in warm soapy water. I had the same problem years ago with a Jap import, once soaked, the smell started to clear. Getting the head cloth cleaned would also help.

Oddly enough the ashtray looks like it was never used.

Mates car was the same, ashtray never used, but previous owner smoked cigars. the seats and headlining were the culprits.

Forgive me if I'm recounting an ' Old Wives Tale ' but I've heard that an onion ( or two ) cut in half and left for a few days in the car will remove the odour ?
