Hey guys, in a few months im supposed to be going to Austraila for a year or two (depends).
I have been working in Canada for a year last year and came home to Ireland, and havent been able to find work in ireland,
I am sick of not having a job and its not as if im not trying.
I have booked tickets and got my visa for Oz the thing is im **** terrorfied about going, more so than when i went to Canada, and Canada was awesome for me. With Oz im more anxious and afraid of it, ill be going to Oz with about the same amount of money as i had when i went to Canada and with a few friends i met in Canada also.
I tell my friends im afriad to go and they are like why are you afraid?.
I guess i just want to know should i go? I am afriad i wont be able to find a job etc, should i go? I want to go, but im just so afriad and anxious about it, am i making the right decision if i do decide to go?

Your post is really hard to read, without punctuation...

But my sense of it, is go!

    BUT first!

Make a list of pros and cons, here if you wish.

What exactly are you afarid of..not finding a job? Or something else?

Hey LadyMayBelle, sorry I went back and tweaked my original post hope it reads better now. I am just afraid and anxious I wont be able to find a job out there like I cant find one here in Ireland. I am also afraid and anxious that ill be so far away and that if things go wrong ill be screwed.

You know what, I always hold onto something my Mum says whenever I have second thoughts about living somewhere like a new city or country..you can always come back!!

I went to Oz, found work, loved it. Best year of my life. My brother went, found work, hated it, Came back three months into his trip and went elsewhere.

Do you have a certain area of work, like a profession like teaching, nursing that you want to get into or is it unskilled labour like retail, fruit picking, cleaning? Is it just the not finding work bit that's stopping you? I senses there's something more...

Plus, you ahev the option of going to NZ as it;s so close by, if you geneuinely can;t find work out there. Check out the Oz and NZ threads under Region-Abroad or else under Rec-Travel nd you'll get some tips for finding work

I say give it a shot so that you wont regret it, you're in a good position that you are going with some money and friends, so you wont be alone. Totally different if you had neither. Give it a go, you can still come home if you dont like it

Good advice. Im not picky about what I do, I am a butcher by trade but will do anything at all. I was the head housekeeper in a hostel in Canada and loved it, so im not picky. Honestly im just worried about not finding work i wont have a fortune. I suppose to I am also afriad of messing up out there which i shouldnt be. Thanks for your advice :-)

Of course you should go. Grab the opportunity with both hands and go for it. You're young, you have no ties and you will always regret it if you don't go.

Ireland is in a state. Why would you bother actually staying here when the country has nothing to offer you?

A little bit of trepidation is natural and it is also a positive thing, it will keep you on your toes! :)

You went to Canada and that turned out great, now you're going to Oz in the same circumstances but with the extra experience of Canada behind you.....you can see where this is going, can't you? :)

    Have a ball.
