Administration job

I work in Facilities for over 13 years and I discovered I got Arthritis in my Knee and my Toe, while I can handle at the moment with feeling odd pain now and then, I never let it bother me in work nor use it as an excuse to get out of a job, I've been trying to get administration job for the last couple years and everytime I see jobs it's said leaving cert standard, now don't get me wrong while I didn't do my leaving cert I did lots of administration within my Facilities role from Filling out reports etc.. it's part of my job so why can't I find it easy to get Administration jobs? Even before the credit crunch I was still having trouble getting Administrationi job.

While I'm on my feet 7 hours a day I can see my knee getting worse within 5 to 7 years when it can get worse so that's why I would like admin job so I can not be on my feet all day

    does it seem unfair?

    Thanks

Just say you did your Leaving Cert.

Leaving cert or not, it doesn't seem to matter, I've 20 years admin experience in US, UK and Ireland, I was made redundant last year and thought I'd have no trouble getting a job, I've applied for every admin/pa/reception job I've seen but with no luck. Speaking to others in the same position, it just seems admin jobs are very hard to come by these days, even agencies that specialise in admin jobs don't seem to have much, or roles are given to people with 1-2 years experience and the pay is very low. Sorry if I sound v negative but thats been my experience
best of luck with your job hunting
