    Hi,
Im not sure if this is the right forum, apologies if not.:D I have a Bush 30inch flat screen tv. Its about 3 yrs old. Recently the picture has suddenly frozen and the screen turns to stripes, or sometimes the sound randomly goes! I thought it was the upc box, but they came out and installed a new box and its still happening! Any idea what the problem is???
    Thanks

We are having a problem with freezing picture but I think it is the UPC and not the TV and may be linked with weather problems, or so I am told. This seems to be ongoing as in, when there is thunder or too much rain.

Can you try using another source into the TV and see if you are getting the same problem?

Try the rabbits ears and see what happens.

Thanks BrianD. I have tried using the tv just on analogue, it doesnt appear to happen then but its impossible to watch tv using analogue all the time as the quality is really bad. Any suggestions to what the problem is? Thanks for your reply.

Is the UPC box connected with a SCART lead?

    vertical or horizontal stripes ?

and does it affect the menus not good if it does as that would rule out any problem with external sources

The UPC box is connected to a scart lead and no it doesnt effect the menu!.

When you say analogue, is that UPCs analogue (its still running in parts I think) or an external aerial?

Ah right, I was wondering if the problem might have been with the SCART lead - one or more dodgy pins.

If the menu is ok then the LCD panel is OK :)

to see what the TV can do / test the UPC box

try it with a DVD player

try tuning in analog channels on the TV
