    Hi,
Just wondering what normal pratice is for interview expenses? I have had three interviews for one company in cork so far it's a three hour drive each way aswell as 7.20 per trip in tolls.

There is a fourth round which I have the feeling I haven't gotten as I haven't heard from them in a week.

Do people normally only claim expenses if they offer it? Or have people sent them in before when they didn't get a job that they had to travel for?

    Thanks!

was anything agreed in advance for interview expenses ? We would never pay anything for expenses unless it was agreed prior to the interviews. The odd time someone did send in their expenses but unless it was prior agreed, they were just sent back a `thanks but sorry' letter.

As said above, did you hear about anything beforehand? I've only ever got expenses for one job interview and that was mentioned before i went.

Sorry, not alot of help here :(

Yeah nothing was agreed in advance a couple of interviews I went for in the past it was mentioned... the fact that they got me down three times was annoying especially because they knew I was working and had to take time off as well as the expense of travel!

I might send something in if I don't get the job, nothing to loose i suppose! Probably won't get anything but sure i'll see what happens!

Just wanted to get other people's experience of this as I didn't know what was normal!

I wouldn't have thought they'll reimburse relatively small expenses like that. The only job interview I've ever had expenses back from was one that meant I had to get a flight!

yeah i don't fancy my chances but it starting to add up though! 1704km so far (1058miles) which is just over €210 in my car.... plus the tolls make it about €220...

I had an interview in Cork a few months ago - they offered to pay my train fare. However I drove....there was no offer to reimburse that.

I got the job, and had to spend the first 3/4 days down there. Again, they offered to pay for my accommodation. I stayed with a friend, though. There was no offer to cover petrol expenses either.

If they haven't already offered, then I'd say you're not going to get that money back.

Finally got my PFO today! THey sent me a cheque for 150.00 towards expenses which I didn't ask for (yet) nor expect, so pretty happy with that, especially since I got made permanent in my current job in the mean time :)

why would you expect them to pay expense? You are looking to work for them they dont owe you anything.

In saying that I did do an Aldi interview and all were offered expenseces except me as I lived in Kildare ie supposedly the smallest commute
