    Hi there,

My husband and I (no kids, early 30s) are looking to book a holiday within Europe for a week in September - have kindoff narrowed it down to (somewhere in!) Portugal but are just stumped for ideas. Our main priority is to go somewhere relaxing with great scenery, great food, weather and not droves and droves of tourists preferably!

-We're looking for somewhere with great local food
    -Near the coast
-Watersports, walking, cycling - some stuff to do during the week.
-We'd love a private villa with a pool or just a nice small local style hotel.

Please note we've already been to Italy, Croatia, Spain, Corfu so maybe count those out ...

I know this is really vague, but if any places come to mind, we would love to hear them! :)

    Thanks

Portugal should fill the bill. Perhaps Ryanair to Porto and something around there, inexpensive, scenic, sea and the Douro river , historic towns to see.

Herself and I went to Perpignan (a new-this-year Aer Lingus destination) recently. Worth considering. Near the Mediterranean coast; near the Pyrenees; access to Cathar country. you want a seaside location? Try Collioure, only a short hop by train: http://www.collioure.com/ -- a bit touristy, but very appealing.
