    Hi

I am going to set up a wireless router for a friend tomorrow but have a question?

I know that you use the filter on the phone connection to have the phone and the Internet at the same time, but the question is can I just plug the Internet cable in to the socket as there is no phone in the room but the port is functional/live and not needed for a phone??

    Any help would be great

Yes, you can plug the router direct in to the phone socket, no problem.

I'd probably just check the line with a phone first to make sure that it's still working..

    LOL. Misleading thread title.
I thought this was going to be about using the internets as a conduit or summit.
Mistakenly amusing. Just had to say.

PS Hope you get your mates internets sorted.. :)
