    Fair play to them for getting away with it. Maybe the government should consider a reappraisal of rates so that there is less evasion? I personally do the three months on, two months off dance constantly.

    Sensationalist thread is sensationalist.

    Talking to someone who'd know about this sort of stuff recently, it's a lot more than 1 in 10. The answer isn't to impound vehicles, or spend a fortune on ANPR systems, as debated regularly in here, the answer is to include the tax in the fuel.

    We should nearly add road tax to the charter of things not to be discussed at this stage, along with fog lights, etc.

    Interestingly, I heard on the radio during the week that money collected from motor tax goes to local councils into a 'pot' system where most of the money collected is spent on water renewal and other things, but not fixing roads.
