Vista wireless problem - upgrade to 7??

    Hi guys,

    Trying to fix a friends laptop.
    It is pointedly refusing to allow her use an internet connection - shes using eircom broadband and can connect to router but her connection displays as 'limited connectivity'. I got the same error when i tried the laptop on a vodafone 3g mobile broadband.
    I have very good computer knowledge, but i could not even find out definitively what exactly is causing the problem and at this stage putting it down to vista being a ball of you-know-what.
    Assuming that the problem isnt hardware related i am wondering would an upgrage to 7 be worthwhile?
    Just looking for opinions!

    Limited connectivity on Vista is normally down to entering the wifi security key wrongly. Use an ethernet cable to connect the router to the laptop and log in to the modem settings and check the wifi key.

    I had a similar problem to that this evening on Vista ugh. was only giving me Local only. seems to be coming up alot. but i swung around it by using a second router. tis annoying for the owners and i have no way around it as i dont have vista to play with anymore im a 7 head :D
