A young lad from Lucan, Richard O'Donovan, shot 66 today and currently leads by 2 with his nearest challenger (Pat Murray) needing to eagle the last to force a play off. C'mon Richie!!

Fantastic final round, he's home and hosed unless McElroy eagles 18.

Beats being in Donabate golf club where someone was shot twice today!

That's right F22, McElroy has to eagle 18 now. Murray dropped another shot over the closing holes.

Everything crossed here for Rich. He shot 71, 78, 71, 66. Great comeback from that second round score.

    C'mon lad!!

Delighted for Richie. Met him at interpro last year and he is a really sound lad.

Well he brought the trophy back to Lucan this evening. Great crowd there to welcome him back home. Rich said he only became aware he was in the mix on the 15th hole of his final round when the number of stewards following his group increased. He knocked his 3rd shot into 6 feet on the par 5 18th and took a moment to look at the leaderboard. He saw he was level with Murray and another lad on -2, but they were only starting their back 9.

His birdie attempt slid by (that putt was for 65) so he posted a -2 final total score. Funny thing is he posted on FB last night that he needed 2 69's to win.
