Hi, Im looking for help setting up RCD between my 2 machines. Both running Vista Home, both using McAfee Total Protection, both connected to a Cisco EPC2425 (UPC Network) I have set the option to allow RDC on both machines. I have tried connecting both ways but get the same message saying "This computer can't connect to the remote computer" My desktop machine has no password and my laptop has, if tht is usefull. I have seen somwhere on the web that Vista Home wont support RDC, however not sure if thats true, source was flakey. If anyone out there has managed to get this RDC working and had similar problems plese let me know how you overcamt them, all constructive advice welcome and appreciated.

    Jim.

    What is Remote Desktop Connection?
You cannot use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to remote (host) computers running the following editions of Windows Vista:

    Windows Vista Starter

    Windows Vista Home Basic

    Windows Vista Home Basic N

    Windows Vista Home Premium

However, any edition of Windows Vista can be running on your computer (the one you want to connect from).

I use TightVNC for a Vista Home Premium machine here.
