The salarie's seem to be significantly lower than in London(for simialr roles).

Is the cost of living significantly lower?

Looking at places such as Bristol, Reading, etc. Would 30K go a lot further for example in Bristol than in London??

definitely. having grown up in the north of england and then lived in london for 7 years, the difference in the cost of living is huge. The cost of housing is the main difference, expect to pay less than half of what you would in London for housing in most other areas.
