Recommend me a mp3 player

Hi, I'm looking for an mp3 player with over 16gb capacity (i never want to think about what I'm putting on or have to delete anything), with a good UI, long battery life, durable, and preferably a 'drag and drop' transfer ability.

I was looking to get the iPod Classic 160gb, because I don't like the size of the new nanos (too small) and don't want/need a iPod touch (have an android phone for all of my apps etc). But the classic is a bit big, and also your tied to itunes.

If anyone has recommendations for an alternative MP3 it would be greatly appreciated as I'm looking to buy one this week.

Also have a budget of €200 (max).

Look at sony's range, they'll have something that'll fit your needs. Only thing with the sony range is that they don't have gapless support - so if you have any live stuff or any tracks that are supposed to flow seamlessly there will be little gaps from one track to the next.

Have had two Sony mp3 players and both were great. Model i have at the moment is a few years old now, 16gb. Ill have to see what new offerings Sony have with increased space.
Gapless support isn't a big deal for me. Never had any problems with Sony

I have an NWZ-A845 (16gb) that is one one Sony's newer devices. Nice device. Music can be transfered with WMP, with Sony software (little box on screen that you can drag and drop into) or just drag and dropping it straight onto the device with windows explorer(not sure on this one, never used it).

UI is good, very intuitive. Similar size to a 5th gen iPod Nano. Sound off it is pretty good imo and with the earphones that come with it, it has a very good inbuilt Noise-Cancelling System(only works with the stock IEMs). I know I paid €175 for mine (got it ordered into a local shop at launch) but it is €187 in argos.

One problem I have had with it is getting accessories. I haven't been able to get a decent dock for it (have to custom order a Sony one, only one compatible. No third-party ones at all). I have a write up done on it somewhere. I'll try find it.

Is your Android phone not up to it? I had a Toshiba gigabeat. Was great, only gripes I had was if you dragged and dropped music on to it the ordering of the tracks was never preserved so it went to alphabetic. Had to use Windows Media Player. It was 30GB. It broke then after 4 years so I got an Android and a 32GB SD card.

Seconded, incredible little player with fantastic sound too! If you just wanna listen to music (like I do) the you can't go wrong right now - for under €100 you can have a 40gb mp3/wav/flac player smaller than a matchbox, a good deal smaller too! :)

The radio reception in my clip+ isn't the greatest though.

No problems for me I have to say - and I use a short earphone lead (without the extension) as well with the clip usually in my breast pocket or clipped to the inside of my jacket.

I shelled out for a Cowon J3 late last year. That was a mistake. The piece of **** has suffered from corrupted firmware twice, meaning back for repairs and gettings its memory wiped twice. Wouldn't touch them again with a bargepole. How hard is it to make something that works?

either is the battery life - it's fairly crap in fact (even with rockbox on it). also, using the radio totally kills the battery life (14 hours mp3 only but about 8 with mixed mp3 and radio). it's an ok option if you only want your player for mp3 audio but not a good option imo for mixed use.
