    Hey guys,

Quick question. I struggle with keeping to a pre-shot routine consistent and rythem - it was suggested to me by my pro that I should pick a tour pro with the same kind of weight / height characteristics and try copy them as much as possible. Just wondering has anyone tried this out?

I'm not sure whether you mean that your pro suggested you copy another pro's pre-shot routine, or whether he meant you should copy their swing/tempo/rhythym?

If it's the former, it may not do any harm, but the pre-shot routine is a personal thing. It's supposed to leave you feeling confident about the shot you're about to hit, while also covering such things as correct feet and shoulder alignment, ball positioning, and any other 'features' you feel make the resulting shot more comfortable. It should be more or less the same for every shot, except putting and maybe chipping as the technique is different, but overall it's there to put you in the right frame of mind for the shot.

You should experiment with different routines and by all means use pro's routines as examples, but regardless of what you routine you end up with, make sure you cover the basics.

Looking at copying both the pre-shot and rhythm. Good advice though SuperSi will start with a pro pre-shot routine then look to personalise it
