    Is it possible?
My ex has ordered Sky and is getting it installed on 14th of this month. She was told that its not possible to get a second box upstairs as she has no phone line in the house. Whats the reason for this? Is there anyway around it?

The reason for this is the second box subscription is much much cheaper than the main box.

Bolt boxes need to be connected to the same phone line to prove they are at the same address.

Without a phone line she can still get a second box but she will pay a full second subscription.

Edit if she goes for UPC instead this would not be a problem as UPC boxes have a modem built in that can run down the TV cable.

These modems are not active right now but UPC can turn them live whenever they want.

Second sky box needs a phone line to show that its in the residence.

The other alternative is to have a free to air system installed upstairs using either a std hd free to air giving you all the free to air English channels or else a combo box giving you the both Irish and English channels through one box
