This is pretty interesting, someone went around taking thousands of photographs of people around the world, put them into a programme and recieved an 'average' of each country. The results are pretty interesting.

Am I alone in thinking the Irish were the least attractive?

It's the teeth that are funny on the Irish girl. Her top lip is kinda caught looking. She has a real pointy nose thing going on that you do see on a lot of Irish women though.

The Irish fella looks typical enough.

I look nothing like anyone on that.

I dont know how "average" these faces are, looks like he specifically targeted the 25-35 age group to begin with, and on top of that I honestly think he went with the more photogenic options.

Irish guy's iris is wonky, brings down the tone of the whole country. Reminds me of that story from newstalk.

Are Irish men ugly? Apparently the answer is yes and whats more they are 10% less attractive as Irish women. This all comes from beautifulpeople.com, an international dating website, which requires people to submit pictures of themselves in order to gain membership. So people post a photo of themselves and then others must vote on whether they are good looking enough to join the dating agency.

Irish women are the least attractive in the world imo. Irish men tend to be found quite attractive by foreign women however, again, imo. Particularly the body type of Irish girls, 90% very disproportionate.

I think the hottest in that were the English, Russian and American girls.

Around 75%, so clearly that is not average. The site seems to show the average for SA as being black, so they must have it split by race like with America.

Looks stupid, each photo is a real person with ****ty photoshopped squiggles around the edge to make it look like loads are layered on, average face of a nation my arse.

True, koinophilia is the term for it, we seek out those without any unusual characteristics, so that's why the average face produced is quite attractive

That's down to personality, it ain't down to looks. Irish men are generally no lookers compared to others out there.

It's interesting alright. Some of the ones I'd be most familiar with do trigger some recognition. The French woman looks sooo french to me. The italian similarly. I'd like to try it blind to see if that's the case or just confirmation bias on my part.

Defo Brad Pitt with some of our own Colin Farrell thrown in. It would be interesting if he merged some male faces from previous movie eras into a picture. I suspect they'd look a lot more "male" looking. Less effeminate in features which seems to be more prevalent today.
