    Hi,

I was just wondering if I got the Asus Rampage III Black Edition Motherboard and got 4 x 5870 graphics cards that would slow each of the 4 x PCIe x16 slots down to x8, would that be better than 2 x 5870 cards both running at x16 speed?

no, theres a PCIE scaling tech article on tomshardware( sorry man im too lazy to dig it up as i read it about 6-8 months ago ), basically on x8 you have 10-15% performance loss.

You'll have more issues with crossfire scaling than you will ever have with the pcie slots and tbh youre nuts doing that, better off with 2 or 3 6970's or a 6990 with a 6970

Ignoring idiots who comment "far right" because they don't even know what it means
