    Hi,

I need to replace the clutch in a '99 focus. Ford garage quoted me €800. Could somebody please recommend somewhere in Dublin that could do this for cheaper? I just want to keep the car on teh road for a few more months while I trade up. Thinking maybe around €300?

    THanks,
    Gumby.

€300 include parts and labour? TBH a clutch kit for the Focus would cost you, from what I remember, at least €200 inc. vat. I am not sure how easy it is to change the clutch on these, but I think it will cost more than €100 labour. I would say the quote you got is for the full kit, including concentric slave cylinder, which make sense to change while at the clutch.

    About €400 I'd say

We charge approx €450 for a full clutch kit change on a focus including the slave cylinder.

€300 is an unrealistic price to have it done properly IMO.
