Has anyone given this a listen?

After a few plays I'm pretty impressed with it. I can't decide whether or not it's as good as Mirrored. I like it a lot though. The guest vocals that are on the album in place of Tyondai Braxton give the album a nice bit of variety.

Favourite Tracks: Ice Cream, Futura, Wall Street, My Machines and White Electric.

It's a highly enjoyable album and I'm sure it'll be in the top 5 or 10 of most end of year lists. Probably not number 1, though.

EDIT: According to the website it's not out until 6th/7th. I got it last Thursday, though.

Not as good as the EPs (which were also hit and miss). But the hits were AMAAAAAZING!!! Gloss Drop is really feeling the loss of TB.

You really think so? I thought the guest spots were a welcome addition. Yeah EPC and B EP are good have their (haven't heard others) highlights but I still think Gloss Drop is a very solid album.

Think it's fairly poor, don't know any of there other stuff, but not my thing. Friend saw them at Forbidden Fruit and wasn't impressed.

I seen them at Forbidden Fruit having not really listened to them for a good while, but I thought the gig was fairly goo. They only played tracks from the new album so anyone who was hoping for Tonto or Atlas would have been disappointed. Sweetie & Shag is quite catchy, as is Ice Cream. It's clear they're moving in a different direction towards a more accessible sound but I must give GD a few more listens

I saw them at Forbidden Fruit and was dying to see them since I hadn't seen them in a couple of years. I was really disappointed with them. Granted, I hadn't listened to their new album, but I was really disappointed they didn't play at least a couple of songs from Mirrored. Seemed like they were just testing their new album out on a cheap crowd.

Saw them at Glastonbury, thought they were excellent but I did know they wouldn't be playing any old stuff, and I had listened to 'Gloss Drop' loads over the past few weeks. Tough band to get into live if you haven't heard the songs before.

This. I loved Mirrored, saw them at Forbidden Fruit and was a bit lost, then I got Gloss Drop and I'm really enjoying it. I don't like the whole 'we're-not-playing-our-old-stuff' thing. Nobody buys every new album as they come out, and especially at a festival, it's a bit arrogant to play stuff most haven't heard before when it's a "PLAY A TUUUUUNNEEEEE!!!" crowd.

I'd say it goes beyond arrogance though, probably something along the lines of not having TB.

I love Mirrored, have yet to check out this album, I heard a few tracks off it and I was impressed. I really didn't think they'd survive the lineup change, after losing such a prominent member and that, but they've adapted really well.
