Following on from the Shane Long thread, where does everyone think this equally, if not more promising young talent will be next season?

Hopefully he stays at Wigan for another season. They try to play football and he has the chance to become the focal point of the team if N'Zogbia leaves. I don't think he has shown enough yet to warrant a big-money move to a top team.

Best place for him is Wigan,continue to develop as a player and get Premier League games every week. A move elsewhere could stunt his development. Should stay at Wigan for at least another 2 years unless they are relegated and then move onto a bigger team.

McCarthy and all his family in Glasgow are Celtic-daft. We had the chance of signing him for a song before Wigan signed him for a song.Our penny-pinching signing policy came back to bite us on the ass again. I know he wont be at Celtic next season anyway.:D.Maybe when hes 33 and his best years are behind him.:mad:

Hes still very young so as long as wigan stay in the top flight next season then he should stay put.hopefully trap will give him a chance with the freindlies coming up before next summers euros.

It looks like Martinez favours McCarthy in a defensive midfield role. Overall, he was poor enough in the first half, gave away the ball a few times, made a few misplaced passes. Seemed a bit frustrated at times with his own performance and being ignored at times by his team mates when he looked to receive the ball. He must be pretty low on confidence though, he hasn't been in a winning team for Wigan all season.
