    Hi all,
i have an iphone 4 factory unlocked on emobile, everything worked perfect, internet, personal hotspot, mms untill yesterday.
2 weeks ago i updated to ios 4.3.3 and everything was perfect, untill yesterday i received an alert on my iphone to confirm emobile carrier updates. I clicked ok, no change was made that i was aware of untill later on when i wanted to use the internet.
Now im getting messages that im not subscribed to cellular data, contact your provider.
Also the cellular data APN settings have dissapeared, the function to manually input the desired apn is no longer available.
Also the personal hotspot doesnt work, when i click on it, it tells me to contact meteor to enable this feature.
Now im stuck with no 3g internet, and also im unable to send mms. I spoke to meter/emobile and they are saying that everything is fine on their end.
Any suggestions please, this iphone is driving me nuts at this stage:(

    Help appriciated,

you can roll back the carrier update with a system restore through itunes,

backup phone > full system restore > restore personal backup.....ignore carrier update when prompted

Just finished restoring the iphone. Internet and hotspot is back working and the cellular menu is back there.
I ignored the carrier update this time, it looks like meteor/emobile no longer want to offer free hotspot and they want to lock internet settings

    Thanks

You would have downloaded the Meteor carrier file as Emobile use Meteor's network (both being Eircom companies). The APNs would therefore be Meteor, not Emobile, so wouldn't work for you.
They do allow tethering on the 10GB "unlimited" add-on for Meteor so don't know why they'd disable hotspot.
