I just defrosted a steak that just went out of date (3/6/11)

I have a whopper marinade made up for it and every thing

is it ok to eat it?!

Was it in date when you put it in the freezer...?
    did it look discoloured...?
personally.... I'd eat away and more importantly.... ENJOY...!!!

It was frozen so I'd say it's grand, that date is really only for how long it's on the shelf in the shop and all that.

yup it was frozen well before the date

its alot darker in colour than i first bought it tho

so you reckon its grand to eat?

If it was in a vac pack...these can cause discoloration of meat, does it smell OK..your nose can usually be a better indicator than your eyes.

I would say so, but don't hold me accountable if it isnt he he.
It is only two days, and it was frozen so I'd say it's grand to eat, we often get meat in our house, and seperate and freeze it for a few days past the date and it always tastes perfect, and we've not got sick from it so far so, I'd say go on :)

I never let the date on meat put me off eating it. I always smell it and be careful, don't smell it just after you open the packet as it can have a bit of a wiff of it.
