Do you think you'd look different if you'd never drank, took drugs etc

Just wondering about this, especially if your're in your're 30's / 40's, would you think you'd have less grey hairs, be thinner, younger looking etc.

Or do you think we're all slaves to our DNA / Genetics.

How much of an influence do you think Nurture has compared to Nature ?, I'd say it's a safe bet that 37 year old Ryan Giggs probably has a younger physiology and internal organs than a 25 year old Abbey St Junkie.

Now hang on! I thought Abbey played well against Macedonia tonight! Granted the defence wasn't organised, they hadn't played together before and will improve over time!

I didn't drink until I was 18 so I don't think it affected my skin/ height/ weight or anything like that. I don't drink or take drugs to the extent that it would impact upon my appearance, as far as I am aware.

Although my mother did smoke and drink throughout my gestation, so maybe I would be a 7' tall black guy with legs like tree trunks if she hadn't been quite so fond of the Silk cut with a gin & tonic.

I know I would be thinner. When I need to lose weight I go off the beer. Don't have any grey hairs or wrinkles and neither did my monther until she was in her 40's. I drink more than she ever did so I reckon the genes are working wonders.

Ah I'd be the same I'd imagine. If you;re showing the signs of drinking/drug taking in your 20's then you're in big trouble imo

I'd look like Michael Jordan if I didn't drink at 15.

And if my parents weren't white and short.

Ah not so much better because my hormones are raging a war on my body more than occasional binge drinking ever did.

I think most of us would look a lot better at 40 if we didn't live off mostly carbs, sugar and bad fats.

I look older than I did when I was younger, but I put that down to being older now than I was when I was younger.

Well, I can vouch for the no drink drugs = youth thing
My group of six friends from school never bothered with binge drinking, drugs or major amounts of make up and we're all in our 30s now and all look pretty young and youthful.

A few friends that really got into the heavy partying, smoking and drugs look like ****e now TBH, two girls even look like they're well into their 40s.

Also, the few friends that had kids when they were in their early 20s also look like ****e, one is now sporting a full head of grey hair and bags under the eyes clearly visible even with full make up...there must be a link!
