Two months ago I tore my anterior cruciate ligament at soccer training. Found out last week that the surgeon i was going to isnt covered in my own private health insurance and the cost is 4400 euro and another surgeon im only 60% covered.

Now I rang the chairman of the club asking will the clubs insurance cover it and to be honest he didnt seem that confident but would look into it.

I paid insurance and registration at the start of the season so will I the cost of the operation be covered?

    SNIPPED

There have been threads about these club insurance policies before and the consensus appears to be that they are utter rubbish that look good on paper but when it comes to making a claim they pay out only a fraction of the sums involved ( if at all ).
My sister took a belt in the mouth from a hockey stick years ago and needed some very expensive dental treatment to put it right , my sister claimed from the ' comprehensive ' policy in place with her club but received I think less than 10% of the costs.
She ended up marrying the dentist so I like to think he let her off the rest :)
