    can someone explain the legal position on showing english premiership matches using a valid tring card in an irish pub environment. i know the murphy case has nearly assured that all european subscriptions to european sports packages will now be allowed. however albania is not part of the eu. So is it illegal to show such channels in ireland or is this a bit fuzzy. have a friend who owns a pub and would like to show the games but sky are very expensive and as we all know the pub trade in ireland is suffering badly. Thanks

    Someone correct me if I'm wrong but even if Murphy wins her case, you still need a business/commerical sub for a pub rather than a home one?

    You need a commercial sub for a pub, restaurant, etc..

    Most subs are just domestic and you see a disclaimer on the internet page saying for household use only or similar!

    Im not to sure about the Albanian cards/subs as they are not in the EU, or am i wrong on that one?
    Legally you would be better off with a 100% EU card, like Sky Germany/Italy, Canal+ Poland/Scandinavia/France, D+ Spain etc etc.

    thanks, can anyone advise the most economical package for legally being able to watch premiership matches that also allows the possibility of english commentary within commercial premises

    I think the wording needs to be a bit more specific here. There is nothing illegal about using a domestic sub in a business premises. What it does do is break the terms and conditions of the contract, and the service provider can either stop providing the service, or come after you looking for the balance. If you use a Tring card here in Ireland, there is nothing, nada, not a damn thing that Sky can do about it. Tring would be the one who's T&Cs you are breaking by using their domestic card in a pub/other business premises. It would be up to them to decide what they will do about it. All Sky could do is complain to the PL about it, and the PL could threaten Tring regarding their showing of the matches outside their allotted geographical area, but neither Sky nor the PL have any authority to do anything with the end user, that is between the end user and Tring.

    I know a pub in town that shows free internet streams of matches on all its flatscreens and big screens.

    Absolutely shocking results to be honest.

    Some publicans are cheap bastards.

    At €325.49 plus delivery for a Tring card, he is having a laugh..........{€269+VAT}

    "This is the Tring Plus card €269 + vat giving you the 3pm Saturday games not the cheaper Tring card which does not give you the 3pm Saturday games sold by some retailers."
