Anyone around know where I can pickup a cheap good quality K98k without having to import? And the ZF41 too.
And is there a good place for Wehrmaht uniforms? I want to get a German Sniper look going.

I know ebay isn't too bad for cheapo reproduction German sniper smocks and caps, sometimes the smocks are reversible for seasonal camo. You can get various patterns. I don't know much about where to get the Wermacht uniforms though.

As for the dboys K98, it's a big no-no for skirmishing and looks awful out of the box. I had one and although I loved it as an object after stripping the nasty red laquer off the wood and re-finishing it, it was a terrible shooter. Very inaccurate and low fps. I heard somewhere that the stock inner barrel is 2-piece, don't know if it's true. Also the shell eject system is weak and will not remove the shells every time after some use. I've spoken to a few owners who concur that this is a common problem.

As a skirmish gun it's pants, and as a collectors piece it's also pants, having no markings whatsoever, a terrible finish on the wood and crappy painted pot metal.

On saying all that I did love having it lying about the house. From a distance it looks kind of cool after doing up the wood

That's what mine ended up looking like. If I was doing it again I'd definitely do a better job on it...

Well if you want to get yours off your hands im here, just so I can Get the look started, I would get it internally sorted if it was as bad a it sounds.

    Link isn't working there, Mando.

But yes, I've heard nothing good about the Dboys K98. I never owned one or held one and I don't intend on ever doing so. Either save up and buy a Tanaka or Marushin, or else keep the German gear but get an Mp40/44/38 whatever.

I, like you have wanted one of these since forever, but as of yet I can't find a resonabl-priced, practical way of doing it.

I took the link from an old thread here:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=68707835

It was working from there earlier, the k98 was sold to Shrek3 on that thread:(

I think a good while ago (last year anyway) mainirishairsoft used to sell the ZF41 scope or a clone of it.
