I'M SERIOUS !!! Working in a shop at the end of a fairly busy intersection I find myself at the coalface of some pretty horrific parking , marveling at the ineptitude of it all I find myself wondering a) how did these people pass their tests and b) if the system is failing them and sending them out onto our roads ill equiped to park competently what can be done ?

My solution ..... Go-carts, the problem best as I can tell is most women and maybe some men have a problem with cause and effect, they turn the wheel but have no real idea of the orientation of their tyres and thus only feel comfortable reversing one way, in a straight line . In a go cart they would be able to see the orientation of their tyres and thus be able to plan their parking manoeuvre competently and with confidence .

C'mon people help bring about a parking nirvana and buy your loved ones Go cart tickets :D

Could we take this idea all the way and only have go-karts on the roads? Certainly speed up the commuting.

Parking isn't part of the driving test, most you have to do is drive back into the space when you return to the centre, have you not done a test or did you forget that?

I've also found that invariably once one car is parked poorly i.e about a foot and a half out from the kerb it seems to have the knock on effect of having each subsequent car using it as a benchmark and lining themselves up appropriately such that by the fourth car we have gone from a foot out from the kerb with the first car to 2 foot by the fourth .

If Go carts don't have a reverse its a failure in their design not in my plan ;)

and for the record Mariokart > Real life :p

I think guys are just better at parking than girls.

why is it we can park perfectly sometimes and other times make a complete balls of it.
It's fair to say women appear to be worse than men at parking. not all men get it right either.

More women use carparks in shops than men so it is more noticeable...
