    Hi,

I would like to start a short term Biffy Clyro cover band in Cork. The plan is to have a laugh over summer and maybe (hopefully) perform live at the end of the summer, if it all works out.

I personally play drums, guitar and bass. I would primarily like to play drums but would like to play some songs on guitar and bass.

The focus would be on the early stuff (first 3 albums and B sides) and some of the new stuff (mostly the singles). I'd be hoping to get a 90/120 minute set out of it.

Due to the time limitations, it would have to be relatively intense practice, but no more than would be expected of an average working band. The main goal however, is to simply have fun.

It does not have to be a simple 3 piece, the project is more about getting the songs to sound good live rather than to just look like the band on stage. I would also like if we could switch around for some songs, so multi-disciplined musician would be preferred.

So please, anyone who thinks they can pull off a biffy song better than anyone else, please apply!

    Any questions, please ask.

good idea, and i'd be interested the only trouble is i only know one biffy song (glitter and trauma) on guitar, and i've never learned any on bass, and bass would be my main instrument.

also i'd be a fan from "infinity land" onwards...so wouldnt know the really early stuff...

What kind of stuff do you play ususally?? Would it be a similar kind of style? If you know infinity land you will be familiar enough with the sound of their earlier stuff..

Have a listen to anything from blackened sky, i'd be most interested in playing stuff like stress on the sky or convex, concave or scary mary (simple on bass!).

Most of the bass lines are simple enough, root notes most of the time, bust he dials it up a bit too sometimes.

Guitar is tough. He is very inventive on guitar, i'm yet to see to many people play the guitar right. I've been playing biffy for years and I only have a handful of songs which I would say are close to perfect. But i'm hoping there are people out there with more talent than me who can play the stuff well!

been listening to biffy for years, but never went back to before infinity land....seen em 4 times at least. i'm into a wide style of stuff, so i'm not put off by learning it, its just finding the time to learn that many songs! love his bass tone, and the distortion he gets sometimes.

    where in cork are you?

I wanted to start a thread about making a biffy cover band, then I realised I already did this last summer... I was too busy last tme, but now I'm much more free.

    So BUMP!

I would really, really love to start a biffy tribute band!

So If anyone in Cork is interested, please contact me! It doesn't matter what instrument you play as long as you have a broad repertoire of accurate biffy songs.

I would also like to emphasise that it need not be a 3 piece, the more the merrier. I would love if there were some other multi-instrument musicians so we can all switch around during the shows.

    Thanks for looking!

Also, maybe a mod could move this to the "musicians available or wanted" subforum? I didn't realise there was one (maybe there wasn't when I posted the thread?).

    Thanks.

Done and you're correct, the forum was split late last year.
