Im wondering if anyone here can recommend an edition for small children.

There are numerous versions available and Im not sure which one to pick.

I do not want hokey pokey revising of morbid endings which say 'you can guess what happenned.'

I do not want ridiculous modernised versions, such as the town mouse had to sit in traffic for hours.

I do not want the moral of the story left out because its currently unfashionable to have morally didactic lit.

I'd like nice pictures that help a young child appreciate art without it taking overbearing presence over the text.

Thank you very much to anyone who can help. I hope I dont have to dig up a version from the 1950s.
