    Hi,
    Just a question for those that may know I wonder can an employer reduce hours in CID?

    AFAIK yes, but you still get paid for the amount on your CID. But I am seriously not up to speed on it, don't have a CID myself :(

    cid holder cannot be treated less favourably than a comparable full time employee.
    A teacher on 22 hours may sometimes be timetabled for example for 21 hours 10 minutes but they would still get paid for 22. The same would apply for a cid holder.

    Yes I understand what your saying but my CID hours have been cut by 6 from 22 to 16.25, I don't know where to turn next. Plus i've been tranfered to a place of work 130 km away for those 16.25 hrs. :mad: x MANY

    Are you in a union? That needs to be your first port of call. Do an Internet search for Ivea/ tui agreement on teacher transfers. That document outlines procedures which should be followed. If you are not in a union you need to formally launch a grievance procedure using the vets own procedures. With respect I have you bemoaning your lot on a couple of threads. Time for moaning on the Internet has past get active

    My understanding is that that you get the choice of 50 km from your place of work or 50 km form you place of residence.

    Definitely chase it up.

    You get transferred 50km for redeployment alright but I think with a CID your terms of redeployment are a little different. Maybe that is one of the main differences between PWT and CID??

    With CID afaik, you can be moved anywhere within the range of your VEC.

    No full time and CID have to be treated the same. It really is quite simple. Recent circulars on redeployment give equal weight to CID and permanent staff.

    As far as I know once you get a CID you get paid for whatever hours your CID is granted on....for example my CID is for the full 22 hours so whether I am timetabled for 22 hours or 19 hours I get paid for 22...the same should apply to all CID holders.
    I also agree that the redeployment is meant to be 50km from your home or school whichever you choose it to be.
    It seems like your being treated badly...def contact your union OP

    I remember hearing a few years back that the VEC was a little different but I'm not fully up to speed with the VEC

    Any teacher employed by a VEC can be transferred within the scheme, the principle of last in first out should apply.

    Redeployment is where a teacher changes employer. This is a new measure under the Croke Park Agreement - Refer to your union
